Relocating for work

Land softly. Decide slowly.

A real address, a real kitchen and a neighborhood you can test-drive before you commit to a year-long lease or a mortgage. For individuals and families moving to Charlotte and across the Carolinas.

Living room of a Stay furnished apartment

The most common relocation mistake is booking for the wrong length

People book a hotel for “a few nights while I look around” and are still living in it six weeks later: no kitchen, no living room, nothing that feels like theirs. Or they sign a twelve-month lease sight unseen and discover the commute is forty minutes longer than the map said.

A furnished home on a 30-night term is the middle path. It gives you breathing room to drive your real commute at 8:15 on a Tuesday, try the grocery store, and find out whether you like the neighborhood at 9pm, not just at noon on a Saturday. When you're ready, you move on. If the house hunt runs long, you extend in place.

What a Stay home comes with

  • Furnished down to the coffee maker. Beds made, kitchen stocked with cookware and dishes, towels on the rack.
  • Utilities handled. Power, water, high-speed Wi‑Fi and a streaming‑ready TV, all in one monthly number.
  • Real neighborhoods. Apartment communities with pools, gyms and garages, near the offices people actually commute to.
  • Month to month. Extend without a new lease. Give 30 days' notice when you're ready to go.
  • People who pick up. A guest services team in Charlotte and Raleigh, not a chatbot in another time zone.

Questions people ask before they book

How long can I stay?

Anything from 30 nights to a year or more. Most relocating guests book a month and extend month to month while they find a permanent place — same home, same key, no new lease.

What is included?

Furniture, housewares, linens and kitchen essentials; electricity, water, high-speed Wi-Fi and a streaming-ready TV; a washer and dryer in the home or on site; and a guest services team you can reach. You bring a suitcase.

Can my company pay directly?

Yes. If your employer or relocation company is covering housing we bill them directly, so nothing sits on your personal card. Just choose “My company” on the quote form.

Can I bring my dog?

Usually. Most of our communities welcome pets; each has its own breed and weight policy, so tell us about your pet up front and we will match you to a home that works.

How fast can I move in?

If we hold an open home that fits, often within a few days. If we need to source one, typically 24–48 hours to confirm and a week or so to have it furnished and ready.

What about taxes?

Staying 90 nights or more? Occupancy and sales tax don't apply, so the longer stay can cost less.
